Summary:
Town Fair Tire is seeking a highly motivated IT Support Specialist to join a mid-sized team of Software Developers, Data Scientists & Network Admins.
The Engineer's role is to handle inbound communications regarding IT issues and assist with Store Support, System stability, integrity of in-house proprietary Software, Network configurations and Hardware.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
? Handle high volume of incoming calls from stores with IT related issues, both hardware and software (70%) ? Route calls accurately to the appropriate person or department ? Learn our point of sale system and work with system engineers to learn our infrastructure ? Create and assign tickets to the appropriate support teams, ensuring that tickets consist of all necessary details for escalations to higher teams to be able to quickly resolve issues ? Troubleshoot deeper networking and system issues with our network engineers (30%) ? Respond to Store and customer inquiries and requests via email, phone, and in-person, providing technical support and guidance ? Follow up with stores in regards to End-User Experience / Health of our Applications and POS system ? Track and Report stores that are experiencing Connection / Hardware Problems ? Monitor and maintain system performance, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner ? Document and report all issues and resolutions for future reference ? Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours and weekend support ? Continuously improve technical knowledge and skills through ongoing training and development Requirements:
To be considered for this job, candidates may be required to have the following skills and
Experience:
? Experience in IT helpdesk and/or junior system administrator background is preferred ? Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems and basic network concepts ? Familiarity with remote access tools and technologies ? Strong customer service orientation ? Strong problem-solving and analytical skills ? Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Personal Attributes:
? Proactive attitude toward improving and optimizing existing and future systems ? Able to conduct research into software issues and products as required ? Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language ? Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail ?
